Golden Gate Net

The soil of a space holds many stories, but what happens when these stories are returned? This net is made from biodegradable rice paper, held together with biodegradable paste, and soy based ink. On it are stories, and history of the legendary Golden Gate park. Much of the narrative is focused on the native plants which used to inhabit what is now the park, and the function of the net is to fall and biodegrade naturally into the soil of the location, so that the ground can absorb its own history and be reminded of its roots.

Presidio Scroll

As I moved forward with returning a park's narrative to its soil, I decided to give back the Presidio's shrubbery that it had once lost. In doing so I created a home made scroll from the dead leaves and greenery scattered about a specific site. The fragile scroll was returned and hung in the site from which it had came from. However, it didnt take long for the rains to come so it could become one with the soil, once again.
